Magnolia Springs Bed and Breakfast

A Romantic Baby Announcement at Magnolia Springs Bed and Breakfast

Some photography sessions are beautiful because everything goes exactly as planned.

And some are beautiful because they remind us that the most meaningful moments in life are rarely perfectly predictable.

Renee and John traveled over 500 miles from St. Augustine, Florida, to celebrate one of the biggest announcements of their lives — the beginning of their family. They chose to spend their getaway at the charming Magnolia Springs Bed and Breakfast in Alabama, and I had the absolute honor of documenting this incredibly special season for them.

From the moment I met them, I knew this session would be memorable.

Not just because of the location.

Not just because of the images.

But because of the love between them.

A Romantic Evening at Magnolia Springs Bed and Breakfast

Nestled along Oak Street in Magnolia Springs, Alabama, the Magnolia Springs Bed and Breakfast feels like stepping into another time. The property is filled with Southern charm, towering live oak trees draped in moss, and beautiful spaces that make you want to slow down and savor the moment.

It is truly one of those places where every corner will complement your story beautifully.

When Renee and John contacted me for their pregnancy announcement session, we knew this location would be the perfect backdrop. The covered porch, the historic charm, and the natural beauty of the property created an atmosphere that felt romantic, intimate, and timeless. It was ideal for a pregnancy announcement. It quickly became one of my favorite locations for an outdoor portrait session in Baldwin County.

But then it rained.

The entire session.

But looking back I could not have imagined it any other way.

The rain darkened everything, making the whole atmosphere more intimate. The moss-covered oak trees became more dramatic, the porch became a cozy place to capture quiet moments together, and Renee’s damp hair and natural beauty brought such an effortless editorial feeling to their images. It’s true that I love color, but the extra moodiness the rain and clouds added to this gallery was pure magic.

These were not just Magnolia Springs Bed and Breakfast photos.

They were memories of the exact season they were in — the anticipation, excitement, and overwhelming love they already had for a baby they had not even met yet. And how excited they were to share with their friends and family they were expecting their first little love bug.

When One Artist Trusts Another Artist With Her Story

One of my favorite parts of this session was learning that Renee is an artist herself.

There is something incredibly special about photographing another creative person. Artists understand the importance of preserving emotion, along with creating something visually beautiful and genuine.

Renee wasn’t simply looking for pregnancy announcement photos. She wanted to remember the feeling of becoming a mother, the excitement of growing her family, and the love that created this baby.

That is something I deeply understand.

As a photographer, my goal has never been just to create pretty images. It is to preserve the pieces of life that move too quickly.

The tiny details.

The connection.

The way your husband looks at you when you are carrying your first child.

The moments you don’t realize you will miss until they are gone.

The Quiet Beauty of a Supportive Husband

Something that stood out to me most during Renee and John’s session was the way John adored Renee.

Every idea she had, every vision she wanted to bring to life, every moment she hoped to remember — he was completely present for, and equally shared her excitement.

There was never a feeling that this was “just a photoshoot.”

He understood that this was important.

He understood that this was part of their family story.

And watching him love and encourage her throughout the evening was one of the sweetest reminders of what this season is really about.

Pregnancy is such a beautiful, fleeting chapter. The excitement, the unknown, the anticipation of meeting your baby for the first time — those moments deserve to be remembered.

A Pregnancy Announcement Session Worth Traveling For

Renee later shared that finding my work online immediately connected with her. As an artist, she recognized the care and intention behind my images, and I was incredibly honored that she trusted me with such an important milestone.
